College Placement Coordinator
Coach Jose Valencia serves as the FBA Team Manager across all levels, bringing over two decades of player development and coaching experience to the program. A former player at Modesto Junior College, he went on to scout professionally for four Major League Baseball organizations: the Cincinnati Reds (current), Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, and Colorado Rockies — each for four seasons. He also spent time as a hitting coach and roving instructor with the California Winter League.
His coaching background includes roles at the collegiate, high school, and travel ball levels. He manages the FBA Sharks Summer College Team and has served as an assistant coach for various college scout teams. At the high school level, he has coached in the MLB High School Scout Ball program and led the FBA 18U Sharks Summer Showcase Team. His leadership in travel baseball spans over 18 years, managing and coaching the FBA High Showcase Team and FBA Sharks.
Under his guidance, more than 30 players have earned college baseball scholarships, and 4 have advanced to sign MLB Draft or professional contracts — a testament to his deep knowledge of the game and commitment to developing elite-level talent.
